Pastor Randy Bevington is an Ohio City native and graduated from Ohio City-Liberty in 1978. After high school, he spent 3 years in the Air Force National Guard while in college and then 8 years active duty as a Naval Aviator stationed in San Diego, CA. It was while in Navy boot camp in 1982 that Randy became a Christian. "I was in big trouble so I called out to God to rescue me and to empower me to change my life. God was absolutely faithful. He did just that. There has never been a moment since that day that I have regretted surrendering my life to Him".
After leaving the Navy in 1990, Randy entered ministry while attending Bethel Theological Seminary in San Diego, CA. While in San Diego Randy served as a youth pastor, a college & career Pastor and as a music minister. On January 1, 1995 Randy conducted his first service as Senior Pastor of Lighthouse Christian Center in Nipomo, CA. "As I prepared for my first service at Lighthouse, I thought back to when I tended bar at the Dog House Saloon in Ohio City. I realized only God could have taken me from the Dog House to the Lighthouse".
As a gifted teacher, Randy makes God's Word easy to understand and applicable to our daily lives. "I am not a strong believer in religion, denominationalism or man made theology. I love to open the Bible and teach what it has to say personally to us. God's Word teaches us how to have an intimate relationship with our Heavenly Father through Jesus and the Holy Spirit ."
Randy's wife Judy is a high school math teacher in Delphos Ohio. They have two married, adult children and two granddaughters. Randy enjoys flying, working out, sports, music and spending as much time as possible with his family.
"My desire in ministry is very simple. I have lived half of my life my way and half of it God's way. I have found God's way works much better. I consider myself very blessed but I know I am not special. If God will do it for me, He will do it for you. I love the opportunity to show people how to be successful in Christ.
